March 12, 2019 - Zoul Manhattan Film Festival Official Selection
Huge Zoul news! I am pleased to announce that Zoul received its first festival acceptance and will screen at the 13th Annual Manhattan Film Festival! MovieMaker Magazine ranks MFF on their lists of "25 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee" and "The Coolest Film Festivals in the World." Official schedule and details to come, and I hope to see you there. Fingers crossed this will be the first of many festivals! |
January 20, 2019 - The Malfunction Short Film
Starting the year off with a fresh new project! I had the absolute pleasure of producing and storyboarding The Malfunction, a new sci-fi short film directed by Tom Festo (Director of Photography on Zoul). I can compare the story to an episode of the Twilight Zone or Black Mirror. We still have one more day of shooting exteriors when it gets a tad warmer outside, so keep on the look out for more updates!

January 17, 2019 - More SVA Classes
Just registered for another SVA class starting at the end of the month! I originally planned on taking this semester off, but I couldn't pass up this opportunity. The class is dedicated to the art and technique of pitching television series to executives. How relevant!

October 12, 2018 - Zoul Private Screening at the IFC Center
Last night, I had the absolute honor of hosting a private screening of Zoul for family, friends, and crewmembers at the legendary IFC Center. A huge thank you to everyone who braved the rain and showed their support. This film has been over a year in the making, and I'm so glad I was able to finally share it on the big screen with the people who made it happen. Thank you to everyone who worked on Zoul, from the talented actors to the dedicated crew, and to anyone who supported the film in any way throughout this process. We all made this together! Visit the Zoul Screening page for more photos from last night. |
September 24, 2018 - More School of Visual Arts Classes
Not missing a beat, I'm returning to SVA to take more classes -- this time in 2D animation using the widely-used industry software Toon Boom. I've been wanting to learn this program for years, and so I can't wait for this class to start!

September 13, 2018 - Tom Cassese Studios Rebrand
It may seem like a slight change from Tom Cassese Productions, but I've decided to update the name of my company to Tom Cassese Studios. I believe this new name more accurately reflects my goal of creating high-quality original live-action films, animated films, comics, and illustrations. The "TC" logo has also been updated to be sleeker and sharper. Starting with Zoul, expect to see more originals from me. |
June 4, 2018 - School of Visual Arts
For the past year or so, I've been considering going back to school. There was so much more I wanted to learn. Today I'm thrilled to announce that I have started classes at SVA. It's a lot to juggle with a full time job at AMC Networks and multiple film projects happening at once, but I'm up for the challenge. For the summer semester I'm taking a 3D computer animation course in Maya, as well as a course focusing on visual media property development with former executive editor of Marvel and Epic Comics Carl Potts. I couldn't be more excited, and I can't wait to see how my art and writing skills improve.

November 4, 2017 - Concurrence at YoFiFest and Its Retirement from the Festival Circuit
As Zoul is being edited, I have one last update for my previous short film Concurrence. Yesterday, Concurrence screened at YoFiFest, aka the Yonkers Film Festival, its 12th and final film festival. To my friends who worked on Concurrence in that one frantic week back in April 2015, I can't thank you enough. The film we shot for $21 took us from Hofstra, to Hollywood, to the south of France, and to many other film festivals in the years that followed. Now the time has come to finally retire Concurrence from the festival circuit. Thank you everyone who supported us on this journey. Stay tuned for more Zoul news, but for now, why not check out Concurrence again for old times' sake HERE. |
