ABOUT
Beanstalk ​is a collaboration between musician Kory Hilpmann and myself. Kory wrote a piece of orchestral music inspired by the classic story of Jack and the Beanstalk and commissioned me to animate a film to go along with it. When he contacted me to take on this project, we decided to expand the scope of the film from a simplistic music video to a fully animated adventure short. This film was a fun challenge, as I had never animated anything this long or complex. Five minutes may not sound like a long time, but keep in mind it's twelve drawings per second, plus backgrounds! I'm so proud of the finished product, especially now that it's starting to be accepted into festivals and win awards. We hope you enjoy it, too!
